This is from my series “YOLO Man Waltzes Matilda” an exhibition inspired by the book by W Benjamin Lindner Waltzing Matilda, Australia’s Accidental Anthem
Getting to Dagworth Station in the 1890’s was a long journey. Part of the journey may have been by the Cobb & Co . A rough coach journey. Here YOLO Man holds on to the reigns. One bare leg, one covered in ironstone. The bare leg is a reference to Banjo Paterson’s love and affection for the land. One leg in the city the other connected to the land.
